Brief

Homemate approached us to produce a Christmas TVC that would amplify their brand during the most commercially competitive season of the year. The goal was to shift perception, from being seen primarily as a DIY destination to a diverse, family-friendly retail brand with wide appeal. The campaign needed to be memorable, upbeat, and emotionally engaging, while showcasing the store’s vast product range: from home decor and electronics to toys and pet gifts. With a limited runtime and modest budget, the challenge was to craft a narrative-driven spot that felt cinematic, immersive, and strategically positioned to increase both footfall and festive sales.

How

We built a story-driven concept where a regular shopping trip transforms into a whimsical journey. Through contrasting visual worlds, cold, everyday retail vs. warm, magical wonderland, we heightened the emotional resonance of the narrative. From camera movement to lighting design, each production choice reinforced the sense of transformation. Our protagonist, guided by curiosity and children’s joy, moves through various product-themed zones representing Homemate’s categories. The use of practical effects, ambient audio shifts, and intentional pacing added depth to a short-format video. The magical world wasn’t just about visuals, it was a metaphor for the ease and delight of finding everything under one roof.

We delivered a full production package: from concept development and scripting to casting, shooting, and post-production. The final TVC was output in multiple formats for digital and social, ensuring it reached audiences across platforms. The film showcased Homemate as more than a retail store, positioning it as Malta’s go-to destination for Christmas gifting and home styling. Alongside the core deliverables, we provided moodboards, campaign messaging, and visual guidelines to ensure consistency across supporting assets. The result was a festive, high-impact campaign that combined storytelling with strategic product visibility, wrapped in a visually distinctive holiday experience.
