Brief
Heir&Loom approached us to craft a brand that reflects the duality of their essence, heritage meets modernity. With 30 years of experience in fine jewellery, the client sought a premium visual identity to elevate their boutique’s offering of timeless pieces, custom designs, and luxury goods. The brand needed to appeal to both first-time jewellery buyers and seasoned collectors, while staying distinctively Maltese in tone and internationally poised in aesthetic. Our challenge was to build a brand system that communicated trust, longevity, and exclusivity without veering into snobbery.
How
We began by immersing ourselves in the story behind Heir&Loom drawing from the Vassallo family’s generational heritage while tapping into the sensibilities of today’s design-savvy consumer. Through iterative exploration, we refined a visual identity that is both high-end and approachable. The typographic direction leans into edgy minimalism, while subtle customisations to letterforms convey warmth and approachability. A symbolic monogram was developed from three pillars, representing family and legacy, unifying the brand’s past and present.
What
The final outcome is a holistic brand identity encompassing a bespoke typemark, monogram, colour system, and visual language that reflects both precision and soul. We introduced Heirloom Green as the hero color, paired with Soft Blush and Ice White to balance sophistication with softness. The typography is bold yet refined, designed to work seamlessly across packaging, signage, and digital touch points. Every detail, from the custom “e” to the structural grid of the logomark, reinforces Heir & Loom’s positioning as a luxury brand that’s deeply rooted in story, substance, and style.
